Sorry to hear this – Mac really is a very special dog and your memories of him will live forever – in time you will be able to remember all those zillion happy times.

I know it sounds corny but when I have had to make this decision and it is such a hard one to make I have had to repeat over and over to myself – if you love them you will let them go……
